The Benefit of Networking: Its Not What You Know, Its WHO You Know!

Last night on my way to sleep, I was contemplating something. I read countless blogs and all have in a form stated the same statement! Its not what you know, its who you know? I kind of wanted to say I beg to differ but after some careful thinking that cost me about an hour of sleep I agree’d.

The fact that you have all the knowledge in the world won’t make you money, but instead the help of others will. When it comes to making money, your biggest asset is always going to be your connections.

An example would be your affiliate managers. Whenever you get into internet marketing, your biggest asset will be your affiliate manager. This is because they are your intermediary when it comes to handling your payouts and payout increases and such.

When you network with others who are in the same field as you, you not only can share ideas and concepts with each other, but you can learn from each other as well. You might have a method of pulling in high amounts of quality traffic and the other person has a method of converting. Put the 2 together and you have a winning combination.

So when it comes down to it, they can go home with the knowledge of how to generate high quality traffic and you can likewise go home with the ability to convert traffic. Its a win-win situation.

But I understand there is some people who are intimidated by social interaction. There really is no way to overcome this obstacle but just be yourself. Be polite when introducing yourself and find a common ground between you and the other person. Share a topic on those common grounds and don’t forget to pass off a business card or something in the end of the conversation so you two can stay in contact.

And networking can be done many ways. MySpace, Facebook, Conventions, Instant Messengers, Blog Contacting, etc. You could even be walking down the road and find a new person and begin networking there. It doesn’t take no more then a “hello” and “what do you do/what are you into?”

Take the above post and think about it and you’ll learn that you can have all the knowledge in the world, but if you don’t have the connections then you have nothing.
