Success is NOT an Overnight Process

Today is a day of success for my fiancée AND my little brother. After the many years of school, they are both graduating. Which lead me to the thought that success ISN’T an overnight thing. If it took them 12-13 years of school just to get to this one day of acknowledging their success, then this is proof that success takes time.

It may be a hard pill to swallow but the truth is success is NOT a overnight process. The belief that late-night infomercials are trying to nail into your head are many times mis-communicated in making you think that YOU CAN be a millionaire overnight.

For instance, “Winning in the Cash Flow Business.” I watched this infomercial many times and thought “WOW, a quick way to get rich, maybe I should check it out.” After 2-3 months of researching (yes, 2-3 months) I found out this.

The cash flow note business is real and it CAN make you as rich as they say but it takes time. I’ll explain that later in this post how, but for now, continuing on.

I want to share a quote from a old English Proverb that may help you get through a hard time when success seems too far to reach:

A stumble may prevent a fall

Basically, whenever it seems that success is too far to reach, your beginning to fall. Don’t fall and find a way around whatever is blocking you from success and make it a “stumble.”

While I’m sharing quotes, I also just got finished watching the new Busta Rhymes ft. Linkin’ Park music video “We Made It.” Around the end, Busta Rhymes is wearing a red T-Shirt that says “Defeat Enemies With Success.” Now that’s a really good quote, I might have to find that shirt.

But back on topic, I want to share with you 5 different rules I personally follow that help me to be successful and maybe it’ll do the same for you.

THE 5 WAYS TO A SUCCESSFUL HUSTLE!

Once again, this blog is more opinion then fact. I try to keep the 2 evenly divided in my posts. So with that being said, here are my 5 rules to being able to keep motivated and be successful.

Rule 1: Have a Plan:

Whenever you get a new idea for something, you don’t jump into it with the quickness. Lay out a plan to follow, and to make it more achievable, input some guidelines.

For example: You want to get into PPC marketing. You’d first want to study and research PPC marketing. In essence, LEARN the industry a bit.

Next, you’d then want to do some trial and error (testing) to see where your stand-point is. If your missing anything or feel like your not quite capable yet, go back and revise your learning a bit.

Rule 2: Don’t Let Fear Impair Your Judgment:

Trust be told, many people are scared to initiate success because they are overwhelmed by fear. Don’t let fear impair your judgment and look at it as your toughest opponent that once beat, success is only around the corner.

This usually accounts for (I’m estimating) 80% of people failing because they fear failing or rejection. Does that “80%” put fear in you? If not, then you’ve just overcame your first fear!

Rule 3: Keep Inspiration All Around You:

I personally don’t like to embed myself in a atmosphere of negative energy. So I try to keep positive with those around me. Going back to the beginning of my post, my fiancée is my deepest inspiration.

Whenever I start to get discouraged, one call and a talk with her makes me take another outlook on things and not stress over whatever it is bothering me. She’s also the reason that keeps me striving forward for a better life.

Rule 4: The Success of Your Peers:

I define my peers as those who are doing the same thing as me (whatever it is I may be working on.) Take Wealthy Hustler as an example. There are many other bloggers out there speaking about making money online through internet marketing. Although my blog differentiates in its own way, the belief is still the same.

Some of those blogs that I read are below:

Ian (from http://www.ianfernando.com)
Jonathan (from http://www.jonathanvolk.com)
Tyler (from http://www.tylercruz.com)
Zac (from http://www.zacjohnson.com)
Israel (from http://www.fatmanunleashed.com)

Now, when I read them, I take notice to the fact that many of them are successful in their blogs.

I plan to make it there one day but then again, I’ve only been going for 3 months, its going to take longer then that. Hopefully in the future I can ask each one for their best tip/rule in becoming successful and make a separate post for that.

Rule 5: Reward Yourself:

One thing you might not of expected as a way of reaching success is to reward yourself at each milestone. If you reach one milestone, reward yourself with something nice for your success.

In instance, when I made my first $2k from affiliate marketing, I took a trip with my brother to Queens, New York for (half) of a day. It would’ve been a full day but its a 3 hour drive there and 3 hour drive back and I had to be back home early to handle other business.

In either case, it was my first time in New York (and definitely not my last.) So it was quite rewarding!

IN THE END…

Success takes some time so don’t let rushing to get there blind you. Going back to what I said, “a stumble may prevent a fall.” Don’t stumble too much or as everyone knows, one too many stumbles leads to you tripping and falling.

At the same time, enjoy the trip as it’ll be something to remember once your finally successful. My fiancée and little brother say they didn’t necessarily enjoy the 12-13 year trip, but for this day of excitement they feel it was worth it. Ask yourself the same question once success is YOURS!
