So much information can be obtained simply from the source of magazines. But when your in an industry that (formerly) didn’t have a magazine to rely on, you kind of get excited when finally such a magazine appears. Up pops “FeedFront”, the first affiliate marketing magazine from the people who bring you Affiliate Summit twice a year.
I first heard about the magazine while browsing the Affiliate Summit website one day but didn’t pay much attention to it. So when I heard Zac Johnson talking about it over at his blog, http://www.zacjohnson.com - I looked more into it.
To say the least, I wouldn’t say I was SUPER EXCITED, but it did have me wondering a bit so I subscribed to the magazine. After all, it IS free.
After waiting almost a few weeks for my issue to come in the mail, I finally received it this past Saturday and I’ll be honest, I don’t read much but I made an exception. The magazine was very resourceful in terms of photos and articles.
Inside was some photos of the Affiliate Summit West 2008 conference as well as articles from many affiliate marketers, some I knew and some I didn’t. All in all it was a great read including one article that I recommend. I don’t have the magazine in front of me but its explaining how to evaluate a merchants landing page to determine how well it may convert.
There was also a Q&A like section in the back of the magazine and some of the responses were just crazy (slang for GOOD, don’t get it twisted.) I am not going to go into detail of what issues were brought up as that’ll spoil it but its definitely worth checking out.
One more thing that I think is well worth mentioning is its not clobbered with advertisements. Sure it has some advertisements here and there but what magazine doesn’t. It needs to sustain paying for the cost of publishing somehow.
Another thing that surprised me is how cheap it is for a full-page advertisement. $2,500 and its only $1,500 for a half page advertisement. Both anticipated for 1 issue only.
Either way, I was satisfied with the magazine and definitely suggest it to all the affiliate marketers out there. Professional or starting alike, you should definitely subscribe to it. Once again it IS free (to U.S. residents) and a very small fee for international readers.
