My 4 NEW Steps to Successful Posting

Back in February 2008 when I released Wealthy Hustler, I started it with one goal in mind and that was to make it very informative. Not only did I want it to be informative and resourceful, but one of my methods of making my blog successful was to also minimize time.

Some bloggers would say its better to keep your readers around your page a bit. But the truth is like anything else, everyone wants to get in and get out while learning from what they read.

So I personally decided to take a 4-step approach to writing successful blogs. Think of this more as a case study that I’ll be running over the next 2-3 weeks and I’ll be reporting the results back at the end of this timeframe.

If your interested in testing out these 4 steps then feel free to. But its not a proven SUCCESS method, at least not yet.

Case Study: The 4-Step Approach

Like I mentioned above, this is nothing more then a case study. Its not intended to be a proven success route but hopefully in the end the results will prove it to be.

I’ll be blogging (or at least trying) once a day for the next 2-3 weeks. Each article will follow the below 4-Step Approach and hopefully will be successful.

Here are some goals I’m looking to achieve:

1. Boost my DAILY UV’s by 20% - Right now I’m getting around 75 unique visitors a day. This is approximately 15 more daily visitors per day.
2. Boost my RSS feed from 15 to 40 - When it comes to retaining visitors, RSS is your best resource (or a email opt-in list.)
3. Receive at least 25 comments - Over the next few days, I’m looking to enhance the comments section as well. This will reflect those of the popular blogs that use your MyBlogLog account pictures.

Step 1: Write Shorter Posts

My main intention is to shorten the length of my posts. Nobody wants to read a “novel-formatted” post. Instead, they want IMPORTANT details and facts then, there and on demand. If your topic is long enough to give off the vibe of a CHAPTER from a book, the topic needs to be narrowed down slightly.

If worse comes to worse, you can always break the topic down into a series and take that route. For example, Zac Johnson (from ZacJohnson.com) is actually releasing a 5-part series on affiliate networks.

Step 2: Provide Some Visual Relief

One initiative that I need to put forth the effort in is to provide visual relief. I personally am not for reading articles or blog entries without any images or videos to relieve my eyes from the lump amounts of text.

This goes back to Step 1! Nobody likes reading a “novel-formatted” post. Its great to read a good post, but many readers want to see some visual relief that takes the tension off of having to read a bunch of textual writing to get an idea across.

Step 3: Keyword Importance

I don’t really put any effort into researching keywords. This is because I type whatever my mind outputs. But the idea of getting organic traffic from search engines by using the right keywords is nothing less of good marketing.

Sure you can advertise your banner on other websites. Sure you can purchase traffic.

But when it comes down to it, your article should attract targeted traffic. What do I mean by targeted traffic? Basically people who are LOOKING for whatever information your providing.

And I’ll be honest, this is going to be my challenge right here as I’m not a expert in keyword research as many other people are.

Step 4: Provide Related Advertisements

Lately, I’ve been throwing up whatever advertisement I can find. But this isn’t a recommended approach. Why not? Because if you have a affiliate article with a college education banner, how much conversion do you think you will get with that.

Need I say, good luck!

So with 4-Step Approach being in place, let the case study begin and we’ll see where we are in 2 weeks from now.

I write longer posts sometimes and they have been some of my most popular posts, but this is mainly due to including images to keep them entertained :D
